Personalized Support
Every student is different. Coaching is tailored to each student's strengths, challenges, goals, and learning style.

Focus on Independence
The goal is not simply to tackle today's tasks, but to help students develop skills and processes they can use independently. Coaching is a form of scaffolding. As students learn important skills to maintain success, they are capable of more independence. Coaching supports are faded as the student learns to maintain success.

Accountability and Follow-Through
Many students know what they need to do but struggle to do it consistently. Coaching provides structure, encouragement, and accountability.

Whole-Student Approach
Academic success is often connected to confidence, executive functioning, motivation, communication, and life skills. Coaching addresses the whole student—not just grades.

Why?
Why is coaching so important?

Coaching provides personalized support in developing the skills needed for greater confidence, independence, and growth.

Students know that their effort matters. But they don't always understand the "why" and "how". Helping students understand the "why"empowers them to take part in developing their own independence and motivation. Teaching them "how" helps keep them successful.

For a student, working with a coach is different than working with a parent. Coaching helps a student identify priorities through specific processes and exercises. We then design actions towards those goals. Feeling in charge and making choices themselves increases student motivation and the sense of accomplishment.

Moving into middle school, high school, and college with a coach ensures we aren't expecting a student or young adult to "figure this out on their own" during crucial periods.

Maintaining success is important not only for the future, but for developing self-esteem and motivation that will last a lifetime.
